Have you ever wanted to ride a horse? Did you know that there is a horse stable offering affordable riding lessons right here in Singapore? Gallop Stable currently runs 2 stables in Singapore (Horsecity @ Bukit Timah and Pasir Ris Park). They offer a variety of horse-related activities such as riding lessons, pony rides and feeding, trail rides, riding camps and many more for all to enjoy!

Gallop Stable started from humble beginnings in 2003 at Pasir Ris Park with 13 friendly ponies. Their journey began when they realised the lack of opportunities for the public to enjoy horses and horse riding. Hence, since their opening, Gallop Stable has provided affordable riding and an easier way for everyone to be close to horses and ponies without worrying about membership fees, monthly subscriptions and royal costs. With the increased demand over the years, Gallop Stable has since expanded to Bukit Timah at the former Turf Club stables incorporating more riding arenas and over 200 stables, and is currently one of the largest public riding centres in Singapore.

Most of Gallop Stable’s resident horses are ex-racehorses who are there for a second chance at life. Many of us may not be aware but countless of young and healthy racehorses, due to their lack of ability or injuries are retired from racing every year. With no home to go to and of no more use to their current owners, these horses usually face dire possibilities.
Gallop Stable gives these horses a second chance at life by retraining them for riding activities and bringing joy to all their students and riders. Horses that are not fit for riding activities due to injuries from racing or having an unsuitable demeanor are also given a home there where they can enjoy their days out in green pastures, getting cuddles from the staff and customers at Gallop.

Gallop Stable offers a full range of riding activities from lessons to joy rides and trail rides for all ages; tiny tots to adults. They offer their riders a safe, supportive and encouraging environment to explore and further their passion in all aspects of horsemanship and riding.

Their lessons are separated into 4 categories depending on your skillset.

The Pony Trail Ride (3 years and above), is a casual private session and a great introduction to ponies in a fun and safe environment.

The Beginners (4 years and above) is a private or group lesson where you will learn the basic principles of riding such as leading your horse, mounting, the correct riding position, walking, trotting, stopping and safely dismounting.

The Novice lessons, you will work on improving your riding technique, further develop your seat and hands, learn how to canter, ride your horse over poles etc.

The Advanced are for more experienced riders. These session will include lateral movements, more advanced schooling exercises and more focus on how to ride the horse more correctly and effectively. These lessons will also include show jumping.
