Admiralty Park Playground: Slide Capital of Singapore

The Admiralty Park Playground is a great place for some easy breezy outdoor exercise for the little ones! It’s located in the urban park section of Admiralty Park beside Republic Polytechnic and is just a quick 15-minute walk from the Woodlands MRT.

It's suitable for kids of all ages and is full of exciting sets that utilise the natural slopes and hillocks of the park. But what really makes this place special are the selection of slides, all 26 of them! That’s right! 26 slides! Admiralty Park Playground holds the record for the park with the most number of slides in Singapore. It’s a 2-in-1 combo as it offers 2 types of fun in 1 place! The main playground is a magical, multi-tiered playland filled with slides, burrows, bridges, and more slides that any kid will have a blast in, while the nature area brings you closer to nature to experience the beautiful and serene joys Mother Earth has to offer!

The playground itself is categorized into 3 zones, Junior Play, Adventure Play, and Family Terracing Play. As its name suggests, the Junior Play zone is the best place for the littlest ones to play about in. The slides in this zone are designed to be safer and easier for smaller children to navigate their way through, there are also suspended cargo nets for kids to climb up and down on and slopes that are embedded with footholds and poles to help kids hike up to the top. Besides that, there is a large sand play area that has tunnels to crawl through and plant-like climbing poles that resemble the roots of mangrove trees.

The Adventure Play zone has 2 sets of roller slides, is designed for a mixture of ages, and has a 32-meter long High Adventure Roller Slide with LED lights. It also has the longest slide in the park, the Curved Roller Slide, a 34-meter long slide with gentle curves.

The Family Terracing Play zone is best for older kids. The crowd favorite in this zone is the Double Barrel Slides, a pair of 23 meters long and 9 meters tall metallic tube slides that start from the top tier of the terraced slopes. There are loads of orange tubes, slides, and cargo nets crisscrossing the hillside providing a fun way to get around! There’s something called the Waterfall Climber which comprises cargo nets stretched across a wavy blue frame attached to the hillside, a great place for kids to sharpen up their climbing skills.

After all the playing and sweating, you can head on over to the north side of the playground where the nature area is located. It is the perfect place to unwind after a frenzied time at the playground. It is centered around a river, Sungei Cina with 3 bridges to leisurely stroll on and spot any wildlife. The area is part of a forest that is home to more than 100 species of flora and fauna, including the Malayan Water Monitor and the long-tailed macaques.

At the northern end of Admiralty Park are the mangrove swamp and a boardwalk. Here, you can get a closer look at the mangrove swamp from the bridge and maybe spot the hidden “waterfall”. If the family is feeling a little peckish, there’s a restaurant that’s located in between the playground and the nature area.
